Come join Pope County Humane Society and some of their amazing dogs (all available for adoption) on the Copper Trail patio!
PCHS staff will be around from 12:00-3:00 p.m. with some of their dogs and puppies who are looking for their furever homes. They will also be collecting donations for their new building addition, as well as pet supply donations, and of course answering any questions!

Located in Glenwood, the Pope County Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has been dedicated to caring for lost, abandoned, and stray animals since 1985. We’ve grown considerably since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
Our Dog Adoption Process
When we adopt a dog, we want to make sure they are going to be the perfect new addition to your family, which means there are a few different steps in our adoption process:
Fill out an application, either online (https://rb.gy/4drtk) or in-person
We review the application to make sure your potential new family member will fit right in
3. We set up a time for you to come meet them (if you’re lucky enough to have met them with us at Copper Trail, skip to Step 4!)
If you have any other dogs in your home, we schedule a dog-to-dog meet up, so we can be sure they’ll be the best of friends
You take home your new family member!
About the New Addition
We are expanding the north end of our building to create more storage space, an indoor dog run, AND a washing/grooming station. We are currently looking for sponsors that will help us continue making our vision come to life. Any donation is much appreciated as every little bit helps, but we also have donation tiers that come with some fun perks! The Minnewaska Rotary Club got us started by applying for a $15,000 grant for us—only $65,000 to go! Will you help us out, too?
